School & Group Programs

Hire an experienced naturalist as a personal park ranger for a fun and educational outdoor adventure with your class, club, or group!

Field Trips

Take a field trip to a local park with your preschool, elementary, or homeschool class, scout troop or club, and learn about science and nature from an educator with over 15 years of experience! Or, set up a series of engaging and educational programs for your students. We will work with you to support your learning objectives and classroom units or group goals. Preschool groups can choose from a variety of themes ranging from Bugs & Slugs, to Water, Rain & Mud, to Trees Grow Up, and many more. Elementary school aged groups can focus on local biodiversity, ecosystems, watersheds, native plant identification, animal adaptations, and more!

Science Enrichment Lessons

These 1-2 hour lessons engage students with materials and activities designed to inspire a love of science at a young age. They can be held fully outdoors, on school grounds or a nearby park, with or without a classroom component, and our naturalist will tailor lessons to meet the goals of preschool through 3th grade classes. Themes include: Nature Detectives, Autumn Adaptations, Cool Chemistry & The States of Matter, Vertebrates & Skeletons, Predators & Prey, and many more.

School Garden Education

Hire a professional naturalist to revamp your school garden and get those kids outside learning while getting their hands dirty! Weekly or bi-monthly garden lessons teach children about where their food comes from and the importance of a healthy ecosystem.

After School Programs

Start a Nature Club at your school or a nearby park, or bring our naturalist to your center for an afternoon of fun outdoor activities to engage your students’ senses and spark their curiosity for nature!

Rates:

Depending on duration, location, and frequency, rates average $125-$175 for a program of up to two hours for up to 15 children.

Family Programs

In our family friendly programs, children will engage in hands-on activities and explorations while learning scientific concepts and building their understanding of the natural world. Adults will learn about natural history and get to know other parents, grandparents, and caregivers who enjoy the outdoors in a fun and welcoming environment.

Scheduled on-demand by local groups of families and held in parks throughout the area, these programs are led by a naturalist with over fifteen years of experience in outdoor environmental education for children, adults, and families. Groups may choose to keep the class private or open it to the public to meet like-minded friends.

Parent & Child Nature Classes

Parent & Child Nature Classes are best for ages 3-6 (ages 2-8 may participate). Each child must have a caregiver present for the whole class, although children may attend with a friend’s family.

Each nature class explores a different natural science theme through outdoor investigation, hiking, nature games, songs, stories, art projects and experiments. Some themes include Bird Bonanza, Fantastic Flowers, Awesome Amphibians, Marvelous Mushrooms, and Incredible Invertebrates!

Nature Clubs

These fun sessions for elementary age children, 5-11, require a 1-4 adult to child ratio for safety, so parents can arrange a chaperon schedule and drop-off when it is not their week to stay. Nature clubs can be held after school, on weekends, or during school breaks.

Weekend Family Walks

Great for families with children age 2- 11 and adults of all ages. They can be scheduled at your convenience and preferred location.

Rates:

Depending on location, duration and frequency of the program, rates average $16-20 per child (and parent) for a 1.5 or 2 hour class. Additional sibling $5. Children under 2 and/or extra adults are free.
